Why is Exercise so crucial to acne treatment?
Physical exercise is crucial to treating acne. While taking other medical steps to combating acne, physical exercise will help expedite the process of clearing your skin.
Here is why:
Exercise will help your blood flow to all regions in vast amounts. This will enable your skin to be well nourished by oxygen rich blood. Also it will allow toxins to be put back in the circulatory system and be ejected by the endocrine (kidney) system as opposed to the skin, thus allowing the skin to be healthier and ready to heal faster.
Exercise will use up your stored fats and sugars. Sugars and fats drive your sebaceous glands into hyperactivity causing an over production of sebum which will inadvertently lead to a break out. Your exercise will cause these fats and sugars to be released to the active muscles depriving the glands of their fuel for acne!
Exercise, as you all well know, causes you to sweat. Sweating, contrary to popular belief is a very very good thing. It cleans out your pores, hence sebum blockage is less likely, thus reducing your skin’s propensity to get acne.
Exercise will also use up hormones. For example if you are a runner, your body will release adrenalin, to raise your heart rate and to provide energy to your muscles. It will also release testosterone to make your muscles less susceptible to fatigue and to repair damage caused. It is without a doubt in the realm of scientific study that testosterone is a particular culprit in aggravating acne. If this is used else where there is no reason for your skin to be affected by it.

My advice to you is this, even as you take all the pills and the face regimes that your doctors can cook up, it is essential that you start exercising. You will feel much better, look great and help to heal your acne several times faster than would have been the case. Make hitting the gym your New Year’s Resolution!
