Acne scars are a terrible thing to deal with and are often the lasting reminder of years of battling acne as a youth and even as adult. Though there are many products on the market claiming to cure acne scars, its important to remember there is no cure for scarring. Scarring goes far beyond the surface of the skin to the tissue below.
Though there is no cure, there are ways to lighten the appearance of the scar on the skins surface and bring you a greater level of confidence in your appearance. This article will briefly cover some of the most popular natural remedies that are made from simple, cost-effective ingredients and can be done in the privacy of your own home. All of these remedies work the same in the sense that they work to kill bacteria, balance the pH level of your skin, balance your skin tone, shrink pores and prevent future breakouts.
The first remedy is a solution of Rosewater and Sandalwood Oil. Both of these can be found inexpensively at most natural or health food and product stores. Mix equal parts together to form the solution and apply with a cotton ball before your moisturizer.
The next remedy to consider is a scrub made of ground radish seeds and water. This scrub can be used daily to super cleanse and treat the skin. Simple use it as you would any other scrub by applying to the skin and massaging with a circular motion then washing off with warm water. Always follow up with a good moisturizer and do at night to allow skin time to rest. A paste of ground sesame seeds and water can also be used. Apply like you would a mask, allow time to dry and then wipe offer with a warm rag.
The last two natural remedies to help lighten the appearance of acne scars can only be let for a determinate amount of time and should not be used if you are experiencing open wounds or pustules, as it can be painful. Lemon juice can be applied to the face much like a toner, staying away from your eyes, then rinsed off after five to ten minutes. Another great paste to make is one of salt and vinegar. Apply as a mask, rub slightly for exfoliation, allow drying slightly and then after ten to twenty minutes removing with warm water. No matter which home remedy you decide to use for your acne scars, always give it a couple of weeks for results before moving on to something else.
